UV-Guide
Protecting our little ones from the harmful UV rays of the sun is an important part of outdoor activities during the summer. Sunscreen is a common choice, but as an alternative, sun protection clothing offers a simple and effective way to keep your child protected from the sun's dangerous rays. Here are some helpful tips to keep your child safe in the sun.
What to Consider When It Comes to Young Children and Sun Exposure
Dress Your Child in Light UV Clothing
To provide your child with effective protection from the sun, choose sun protection clothing made from UV-blocking materials. These clothes cover the body and block harmful UV rays without making your child too hot.
Sun Hat and UV-Protective Sunglasses
Complete the UV clothing with a sun hat to protect your child's head and face. UV-protective sunglasses are also a good option to protect your child's eyes from intense sunlight. We have a wide selection of sunglasses for children up to 11 years old.
Seek Shade or Stay Indoors During the Strongest Sun Hours
To minimize the risk of sun damage, try to keep your child in the shade or indoors between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., when the sun is at its strongest.
Use Sunscreen on Unprotected Areas of Skin
Apply sunscreen with a high SPF (at least SPF 30) to areas of the skin not covered by clothing. This provides extra protection for the most sensitive areas.
Protect Your Child in the Stroller
Avoid placing the stroller in direct sunlight. It can get very hot under the canopy. Instead, use a UV curtain or UV blanket to protect your child from both the sun and heat.
Bathrobe or Bath Cape for Extra Protection After Swimming
After a dip in the water, use a bathrobe or bath cape to quickly dry off and protect your child from the cold and the sun. Hang up the UV clothing to dry so it's ready for the next swim.
UV Protection for Breastfeeding Parents
For breastfeeding parents, we offer a practical solution to protect your child from the sun while nursing outdoors. Use our UV blanket to create shade while you nurse, both at the beach and by the pool. UV blankets are lightweight, breathable, and block the sun’s harmful UV rays effectively, making them a perfect option for protecting your baby from the sun's harmful effects.
