Did you know that how we do the laundry has a major environmental impact? Small differences in your washing routine can preserve the garment's life, save water and energy, all at once. Are you also the one who mostly throws the same color into the machine and runs at 40 degrees? Fabric softnerbecause it smells good, and preferably the quick program so that you have time to hang the laundry before the children go to bed? Well then, we know...  But we can all learn to wash a little differently to make a difference.

Checklist for you!

Here is a checklist for how to wash your Geggamoja clothes! And really all the other brands too.

  • Always follow the garment's washing instructions!
  • Is the garment really dirty, or is it enough to air and spot wash?
  • Sort the laundry by temperature and color
  • Always run full machines
  • Darker colors together and light separately
  • Especially dark colors keep the color better in cold washes (30 degrees)
  • Polyester and acrylic release microplastics with each wash, consider a special wash bag
  • Remove removable parts, snap all buttons, close zipper. It reduces wear on the garment.
  • Velcro? Consider washing in a wash bag / duvet cover to protect other garments.
  • Wash your baby clothes in and out for less wear and longer life
  • Do not overdose on detergent, the laundry will not be cleaner with too much detergent.
  • Avoid fabric softeners, lots of chemicals and wear the garments unnecessarily
  • Direct sunlight can bleach the garments when drying
  • Direct sunlight can fade stubborn stains
  • Let the garments dry themselves - tumble drying takes a lot of unnecessary energy
