Guide - UV clothing

When the sun peeks out and warms you, you want to be outdoors as much as possible. Staying in the shade doesn't work when you want to swim and have fun in the sun, and then sun protective clothing can be a convenient alternative to sunscreen cream.

But there are some things or advice that might be good to keep in mind. Because we all want to be outside playing and hanging out together.

Checklist UV clothing for baby

Children under one year should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Even in the shade there is UV radiation and you need to think a little there.

1. Dress the child in thin UV clothing that covers the body, and use a sun hat.
2. Feel free to use sunglasses with UV protection. We have several different versions of sunglasses for children up to 8 years old.
3. Keep the child in the shade or be indoors when the sun is at its strongest, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
4. Protect the skin of children who have started crawling or walking by using sunscreen with a sun protection factor of 30 or higher on the parts of the body not covered by clothing.
5. Do not place the stroller in direct sunlight. It can get very hot under the convertible top and please use a mosquito net or UV blanket.
6. Feel free to use a bathrobe or bath cape after bathing and hang up the UV clothing to dry. Ready for the next bath.

It is not the easiest thing to keep the moving ones in the shade.
If possible, stay in the shade as much as possible.

For you who are breastfeeding - we have a super flexible UV blanket that you can protect your baby with when you are breastfeeding. You can use the UV blanket on the beach or by the pool. The UV blanket has several uses, it is light, it breathes and protects your baby from the sun.

Checklist UV clothing for children over 1 year

Even children who are older than one year of course need to be protected against UV radiation as well.

Here are our tips for an active day in the sun.
1. Don't forget fluids.
2. Primarily use clothing and a sun hat/cap as sun protection.
3. Use sunscreen on the parts of the body not covered by clothing.
4. Avoid being in direct sunlight between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., when the sun is at its strongest.
5. Buy sunglasses with Safety Class / UV protection 400.
6. Feel free to use a bathrobe after bathing and hang up the UV clothes to dry. Ready for the next bath.

Wash UV garments?

When you have finished bathing, it is good to rinse the garment in cold water inside out, so that their high sun protection is preserved for longer. Dry them in the shade. Use gentle detergents without bleach - no fabric softener. Follow our washing instructions in the garment.

What are UV rays?

UV is what can burn the skin and make it red and irritated. UV is short for ultraviolet radiation and when we talk about UV, both UVA and UVB radiation are included. A t-shirt equivalent to sun protection factor SPF 10 usually provides safer and better protection than sunscreen with sun protection factor SPF 15 or SPF 20 because it is constant and cannot be rubbed, washed or smeared.
